Gutting a fish
is like ripping yourself apart -
sharpness on the folded metal
rakes off your coat,
flaky armour;
shiny scales,
aluminium grey,
stick up like slime
on newspaper.
Gills become lungs;
ego explored with a blind blade
through the nevel -
code of honour
(kendo once laid)
my fingers tainted
by fresh blood,
I feel the hand of Samurai.
