Think Martian ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2005

Think Martian we were told at the lecture
Look at the World from that perspective
So I did

I went to New York and saw Twin Towers
Re-ran the video and saw the blasts

I went to Madrid and saw bombs kill
I went to London and saw a re-run

I went to the cities and saw bag ladies
Sad teenagers in search of gold pavements

I stood outside the dole office
And saw shoulders sagging

I thought Martian
It was too hard to bear
