Through A Dragon's Eyes ©

Paula Scott
Alabama, USA
2005

I have hidden in caves
from men
Taking flight by the cover
of night
I am bruised, I am scarred,
I am battered
Nonetheless, I have still won the
fight
I have fought beside Knights of
King Arthur
And been hunted by men
of the same
I have assisted the mighty
magicians
Whenever they called out
thy name
I have watched my ancestors
perish
By deceivers we once called
"Old Friends"
I have watched as the "Old Ways"
have vanished
Perhaps never to be seen again
I am sad and lonely for
companionship
Which I know that I'll never
receive
For the world in which I exist
now
There is no one left to
Believe
