Tony Blair ©

William Denholm
Edinburgh, Scotland
2001

We were both born in the 'Land of the Thistle'
So why do we choose different tunes to whistle?

We both come from the same land
So why do we shake with a different hand?

You openly support the 'Leopards Three'
When only the 'Lion Rampant' will do for me

You were educated in Lothian as I was too
So why have I become a different Scot from you?

In Fauldhouse Junior Secondary our education was fine
We learned the story of William Wallace and sang 'Auld Lang Syne'

Tell me, whit did you learn at Fettes big Hoose?
Aíll bet it wiznae 'Scotland the Brave' or Burnís 'Tae a Moose'

Ah, bit Tony, Scotland awe ken
Ye denied yer nationality tae bide at number ten
