"Tweety Pie" ©

(to Stephanie, suffering from the toothache - a wee rhyme to cheer her up.)

by Hamish M Anstruther
Scotland
2005

"tweety pie", oh, "tweety pie"
I look at you and heave a sigh
your eyes are dark, your smile is sweet
your voice is like a birdie's tweet

I'm sad to hear, my bonnie wean
your teeth are causing so much pain
so act upon the doc's behest
and snuggle up for some bedrest

And when the pain has left your jaws
we want to see you back because
your flashing teeth bring us light
and like the stars, come out at night
