Watching Life Go By ©

Nancy Purves
Calgary, Canada
2003

Bluebells blowing
Cold streams flowing
Horse and rider crossing slowly
Sunlight sparkles in water splashing
Clear blue sky and dark green forest
Hawks and herons flying over us
Heads held down -- reins held up
Viewed from the ground,
But never on top.
