Dawn seems a long time coming
When I waken early of a morning
Sometime after three, almost four
Darkly winging to my mental door
Things that I’ve done, things to do
Permeating the darkness through
Oh, for some solace, some relief
Am I totally lacking in self-belief?
What price an untroubled mind
Yearning for respite of any kind
Listening to the rain on the roof
