Were you there when they crucified my Lord? ©

Mystery Rose
USA
2005

Were you there when he was spit on?
Were you there when the crown of thorns was pushed into his head?
Were you there watching his journey knowing of his death?
Were you there when they nailed him to the cross?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Did you see Mother Mary
Cry for her only child
Knowing that her son was tortured
To save the likes of us
Were you there when they crucified her son?

Were you there when they wrapped him in the cloth?
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb?
Were you there when they sealed him in the dark?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when he arose
Are you there to see the prophet filled
Are you there to remember the death and resurrection?

He died for us
He arose on the third day in fulfillment of the scriptures
He is seated at the right hand of the Father
Lord have Mercy
Christ have Mercy
Amen
