What's in a Name? ©

“What’s in a name?” it’s often said
It can matter when it’s said, not read
Is it Greene or Green or Reed or Reid
They sound the same in spoken word
When hearing of some dreadful acts
How often do we check the facts?
What blame we often wrongly place
Then find the truth is hard to face
Jumping to the wrong conclusion
Similar names blamed for confusion
And when the rumours start to flow
They become facts as we all know
So what can we do to put things right?
Ensure our facts are black and white
And give the benefit of the doubt
Until such time as the truth comes out
