When the Moon Smiles... ©

Nat Hall
Sandwick, Shetland
2003

When the Moon hides,
All is sunken
Deep in the dark;

My eyes search yours
Dressed in the
Night of my disguise...

When the Moon shines,
Obscurity
Is torn apart;

A reflection
On ocean waves -
Silvery scars...

When the Moon smiles,
I hear the beatings
Of your heart;

Of all the dreams,
Ivory pearl
You are my craft.
