Who Ate All The Pies? ©
Scott Baggley
Rochester, England
2005
lovely pastry, meat and gravy
waiting to kiss my lips
drowned in condiments, cut from potato
lovely greasy chips
such beauty turns my knees to jelly
indegestion raging in my belly
so bad for you, so good to taste
forever remembered by my waist
I lick my paper, squeeze it dry
vinegar dripping in my eye
smacking my lips and tugging my heart
from you I never want to part
on my gravestone let it be read
here lies Baggley stone cold dead
but please spare me all your heavy sighs
in heaven I'll be eating all the pies
