Rhapsody not Rap ©

Frank E Gibbard
London, England
2005

It is frightful to the ear
An awful racket which I fear
Will never ever disappear
But always be around to hear.
That obnoxious and unwanted sound
Which on the radio too often is found
Afflicting the ear like a baying hound
Which should be consigned to the musical pound
For replacing harmony with flat discord
And it's tuneless dirge of word on word
If only "rap" could be ignored
Or Room 101'd, Room 101'd oh gawd!
