Still got some living left to do ©

Jim Hogg
Stranraer, Scotland
2006

It's sometimes easy to forget
We're not alone here in this life
And slowly slide into regret
At home in shadow, lost in light

The autumn falls so suddenly
Spring and summer went so fast
With dreams of you still haunting me
I've been clinging to the past

Chorus:
Tho' I'll still be thinking of you
Much more than I could ever say
There's more to life than yesterday
And I've still got some living left to do

And I was waiting for the end
With leaves of autumn blowing
All around me in the wind
When I lost the urge for going

If I'd lived a perfect life
There'd be nothing left to fix
But there's so much to put right
So many chances that I missed

Chorus:
Tho' I'll still be thinking of you
Much more than I could ever say
There's more to life than yesterday
And I've still got some living left to do

Through these reds and yellows falling
I see autumn's beauty once again
Against the odds life is calling
The past is gone but not in vain

And if you're wond'ring what remains
Of all those promises we made
It may be time to quit these chains
But this love will never fade

Chorus:
Tho' I'll still be thinking of you
Much more than I could ever say
There's more to life than yesterday
And I've still got some living left to do
