Nicola Benedetti (1987 - ) born in Ayrshire. Violinist. At the age of 8, she led the National Children's Orchestra of Scotland. At 10, she left her Scottish home to train at the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, England. At 16, she became BBC young musician of the year in May, 2004.
